What am I doing starting a blog?

This is a blog for my mom friends written and contributed by my mom friends. This is just a little place we can keep up with what is going on in Williamson County. My mom friends can share their passions, talents, businesses, opinions, etc. This is a way to organize all the information we mom friends are constantly exchanging in our crazy & fun mom worlds. Let's share what we know and love with our mom friends!
  • Do you have a mom friend who has a business or is just starting a business?
  • Do you have a favorite place for eating, shopping, family time, "me" time, GNO outings?
  • Did you hear about a good deal on something we all might want to know about?
  • Did you send your kids to a cool camp or have their birthday party at a really neat place?
These are the things we are sharing with our mom friends every day through carpool line, play dates and watching our kids in after school activities. Let's make this a fun and useful place to visit!!

Please email me your bits of information so I can post them for our mom friends to read. I don't want this blog to be "all about me" but ALL ABOUT US!!

Please Join My Team to Fight Breast Cancer!!! Race for the Cure Nashville

Please join my team: CYNTHIA'S BLESSINGS!!

As you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 13th, 2010. I have already had a double mastectomy and I am in the process of receiving six chemo treatments. Prior to being diagnosed I supported Race for the Cure in honor of my dear friend Kris Mramor who is a seven year survivor. Since my diagnosis I have connected with many survivors locally as well as across the country. I walk in honor of those breast cancer survivors who have been where I am now. Those who have so graciously reached out to me to encourage and lift me up during this challenging time: Kari Hazelbaker, Ronna Knox, Chrissy Hancock, Barbara McDole, Debbie Wade, Lou Ann Jones, Kendall Womble, Connie Edwards, Sue Jewel, Nancy Tice and Colleen Grady. I also walk in honor of two women who have just begun their treatments only a few weeks behind me on their journey: Tracy Rhew and Heidi Gerencer.

We have also chosen to support one of my favorite local companies: www.thinkhappystuff.com. We believe as a survivor you can "Change Your Thinking Change Your World!" How do I change my thinking? How do I stay strong during such a challenging time? I focus my thoughts on my many blessings!!! No, I am NOT happy about having cancer but my life continues to be filled with too many blessings to count!!!

If you are or you know a young adult cancer survivor please tell them about www.planetcancer.org. Besides being a great on-line resource for any young adult with cancer there is a community of users waiting to help and be helped. It is important to keep the young adult cancer on-line community growing. It has been a very important resource for me in my journey and a great way to connect with new survivors.

Please help support me in this important project by becoming a member of my team! I am looking for my friends and family to join me in supporting this very worthwhile cause. Becoming a team member is easy! All you need to do is click on the link below and register for the Race for the Cure© and "Join a Team".

Remember, one person can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Susan G. Komen for the Cure was founded by one sister making a promise to another sister. You can be a part of this worthwhile effort! Our promise of a world without breast cancer does not just rest in the hands of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. It is up to you, our community of survivors and co-survivors, to stand united with us until the promise is fulfilled and the cures are found.

I look forward to seeing you on race day! Brentwood's Maryland Farms on Saturday, October 9th. Remember 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Remember to "Feel Your Boobies!" to "Save your Ta-ta's!!"!! along with regular mammograms!!!
